On The Road With The 1293!

Engine #1293 makes up a mixed consist of revenue freight
in Coshocton, Ohio for a trip to Newark Ohio, this past September. She returned eastbound that evening pulling covered hoppers containing 1200 tons of corn for delivery to NS.
As we come to a close of the 2008 year, here's a quick look of the past few months accomplishments.
- The #33 made several trips pulling a few specials and freight trains on the line as well as some static displays, most notably the City of Coshocton's “First Friday” events along Main St. The #33 will see some minor repairs and preventive maintenance this winter.
- Engine #1293 made numerous trips both on and off line this year. These trips included visits to the Cuyahoga Valley Railway and the Byesville Scenic Railway much to the delight of those respective Railroads and the public alike.
- The #1293 also pulled several freight trains between Coshocton, Newark and Zanesville, Ohio.
- This winter will see some minor upgrades and maintenance to this fine locomotive in preparation of 2009.
- Work in the passenger car department included updating of the airbrake systems on 14 cars as well as repainting of seven cars. Some light work and routine maintenance is scheduled through the winter months.
- Engine 763 is currently in the shop and has received its inspection to formulate the long term work schedule. Several smaller jobs are already underway as more of her components are removed for reconditioning.
As always we would like to thank all of you for your support, interest and assistance of our operations, we look forward to seeing you at the events that are being planned for the year 2009. Best wishes to all as we set sights for the new year.
